Solaris Central: News and articles relating to everything Solaris, the Sun Microsystems’ Operating System.

Solaris Central was created in the fall of 1999 as the hobby site of Duane Gran while employed at SpinWeb Net Designs, Inc. (now known as SpinWeb Internet Media, Inc. located in Indianapolis, Indiana).

Matt Howell, Media Consultant of SpinWeb Internet Media, Inc. took over ownership of the website in the summer of 2007. Matt has been contributing content to the site for the past 6 years and is solely responsible for design and maintenance through his hobby company, Dirty Frog Media.

In February 2008,  Solaris Central became an “Open Blog” letting users join in helping add content to the site.
